Privacy Policy

The operator of NoQ (the "Operator") establishes this Privacy Policy (this "Policy") regarding the handling of user information in the service "NoQ" provided by the Operator (the "Service").

This Policy is a translation of the original Japanese version. If there is any discrepancy between this translation and the Japanese version, the Japanese version shall prevail.

Article 1 (Information We Collect)

In providing the Service, the Operator may collect the following information.

  1. Images that users upload to the Service, text extracted from those images, generated questions, explanations, answers, and other content
  2. Information about the use of the Service, such as usage status, operation history, number of generations, error information, and crash logs
  3. Technical information such as device information, OS information, app version, language settings, and network environment
  4. When paid features are used, information needed to confirm payment, such as purchase status, subscription status, and product IDs. Detailed payment information, such as credit card numbers, is handled by payment providers such as app stores, and the Operator does not collect it.
  5. When users contact the Operator, their email address, the content of their inquiry, and any other information they choose to provide

Article 2 (Purposes of Use)

The Operator uses the collected information for the following purposes.

  1. To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service
  2. To analyze uploaded images, perform OCR, and generate questions, explanations, and other content
  3. To provide paid features and confirm purchase and subscription status
  4. To respond to user inquiries and to send important notices and other necessary communications
  5. To investigate, prevent, and respond to bugs, outages, security issues, and fraudulent use
  6. To analyze how the Service is used, improve its quality, and consider and develop new features
  7. To respond to acts that violate laws or terms

Article 3 (Handling of Uploaded Images and Generated Content)

  1. To provide, maintain, improve, and raise the quality of the Service, the Operator may view, review, and analyze images uploaded by users, text extracted from those images, and content generated by the Service.
  2. The Operator handles the information described in the preceding paragraph within the scope of the purposes set out in this Policy.
  3. Users shall use the Service after confirming that they hold the necessary rights or permissions for the images and other content they upload.

Article 4 (Use of Third-Party Services)

The Operator may use external services to provide the Service, perform analysis, respond to outages, confirm payments, generate content with AI, and for similar purposes. In such cases, the Operator may send collected information to those external services to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.

Article 5 (Provision to Third Parties)

Except in the following cases, the Operator will not provide personal information to third parties without the user's prior consent.

  1. When required by law
  2. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent
  3. When especially necessary to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent
  4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a party entrusted by either in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the user's consent is likely to interfere with those duties
  5. When all or part of the Operator's work is outsourced to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use

Article 6 (Security Management)

The Operator strives to take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of the information it handles, and for other security management.

Article 7 (Retention Period)

The Operator retains collected information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use or as required by law. When retention is no longer necessary, the Operator strives to delete or anonymize the information by reasonable means.

Article 8 (Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.)

In accordance with applicable laws, users may request the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties of their personal information held by the Operator. To make such a request, please use the contact listed in this Policy.
